Our commitment
Our commitment is to deliver outstanding and educational hiking experiences in an environmentally responsible manner, helping women build confidence and enriching their lives through the outdoors.
Commitment To Environmental Sustainability
Prioritising sustainability during our hiking activities is essential to maintaining natural spaces and cultural living sites for future generations. At Just Trekking, we demonstrate our commitment to environmental protection by actively promoting Leave No Trace principles and engaging in sustainable practices. We recognise that even incremental efforts contribute to significant improvements in conservation. Accordingly, Just Trekking is dedicated to supporting environmental initiatives and implementing proactive strategies to preserve the environment on every hiking excursion.
Our Commitment to Environmental Sustainability incudes:
- Plan Ahead and Prepare: Know regulations, check weather, and plan for waste disposal.
- Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces: Stick to established trails and campsites to protect vegetation and prevent erosion.
- Dispose of Waste Properly: Pack out everything, including food scraps and tissues, and use natural products away from water sources.
- Leave What You Find: Don't pick plants, take rocks, or disturb natural or cultural features.
- Minimise Campfire Impacts: Use camp stoves; if fires are allowed, use existing rings and keep them small.
- Respect Wildlife: Observe from afar and never feed animals.
- Be Considerate of Others: Keep noise down and yield to other hikers.
Acknowledgement Of Country
Just Trekking acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we hike and recognise their continued connection to country. We pay our respects to them, their cultures, and to their Elders past and present.
